JAMES MARGRAFF
COACH
Coach Margraff is a middle school teacher and varsity defensive coordinator at McDonogh School. As a player, he was a senior captain at McDonogh, graduating in 2016, and helped lead the Eagles to their first MIAA championship in over a decade. Margraff attended Division III Rhodes College, where he was a four-year starter and three-time captain. At Rhodes, Margraff garnered the honors of Newcomer of the Year, First-Team All-Conference, and SAA Tournament MVP. As a coach for McDonogh, Margraff has played a role in helping the Eagles win the MIAA championship in 2022 and 2023. Coach Margraff is a young, energetic coach who cares deeply about his player’s development on and off the field.
CHASE MARTIN
COACH
Coach Martin graduated from Gilman School in 1996 While at Gilman, he played lacrosse, where he was a 4 year starter at attack, team captain and won two MIAA Championships. Coach Martin went on to play lacrosse at the University of North Carolina and graduated in 2000. While at UNC, he was a 4 year starter for the Tar Heels at attack and captained the team his senior year. He finished his career in the Top Ten all-time for goals, assists, and points. He was drafted by the New York Saints of the NLL in the 2000 draft. Coach Martin was an assistant coach for the 2001 UNC Men’s Lacrosse Team and an assistant coach for the 2001 and 2002 Women’s Lacrosse Teams
